Liverpool: Mo Salah to not play final game, More from Klopp pre match conference

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp in his pre-match conference updated Liverpool squad fitness. He also talked about Mohamed Salah‘s fitness before the game as the Egyptian had taken a knock during the FA cup final.

Salah is the top scorer in the league with 22 goals however he is followed by Son at 21. Since Salah is not available for the last match, he won’t be able to add to his tally. Moreover, It gives Son the chance to up his goal tally and become the top scorer.

“I actually understand 100 per cent the goalscoring battle with Heung-min Son but we have no chance that we take any risks. But Mo doesn’t want to take any risks, there is no doubt about that.”

Klopp also gave updates on Joe Gomez‘s fitness and also about others as well.

“Joe Gomez has good news, we want a reassuring second scan. But we thought after the game we were luck. Just a knock. The rest of the boys look all good, what we do for the weekend, I don’t know yet. Mo doesn’t want to take any risks, no doubt about that but it looks good. My solution is they can play at the weekend or at least be on the bench. If not, we take it from there”

Klopp also talked about Gerrard facing Manchester City ahead of their crucial game which is vital to Liverpool’s cause.

“If I could play a game that’d help Dortmund/Mainz, it’d help but I’m not playing, Stevie isn’t either. It’d be better if he was then me! Stevie will take it 100% serious without my call.”

Divock Origi: Liverpool Legend

Klopp confirmed Origi would be leaving in the Summer and he hopes he receives a great reception for his career at Liverpool.

“I expect Div to get a special reception. One of the most important players I ever had. He was and is a pure joy to work with. It’s not ever yet but he deserves all good thought we can generate for his future. He’ll be a success. Outstanding. I remember so many things when I think about Div. Goals, ups and downs. A Liverpool legend.”
