The Premier League has commenced its preparations for the next season, announcing the fixtures here on Thursday as Liverpool discovers their fate. Manchester City successfully defended their title last season and will be looking to make it three in a row. However, a lot has changed since the curtains fell in the last season. Runners-up Liverpool, who lost the title just by a point to City are hence conducting heavy business in the summer market. Moreover, other challengers as well are en route to completing important deals. Liverpool have so far signed two young and exciting prospects in Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez.
So the Reds open their 2022-23 campaign away to newly-promoted Fulham on the weekend of 13th August. Moreover, this is will be for the fourth consecutive time that the fixtures allow Liverpool to kick off the new season against a promoted side. Meanwhile, their new signing Carvalho will also face his former team Fulham.
Further on, a trip to Fulham will be followed by their first home game, against Crystal Palace. Then comes their first ‘big’ game, against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Above all, their other big showdowns come on the first weekend of September, the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park. Likewise, the reverse fixture is scheduled for February 2023. However, Liverpool will endure a tough October, having six fixtures. But it will be followed by just two games in November, prior to the World Cup break.
Meanwhile, the most enthralling encounters, which pitches Liverpool against City fall in October and April. But the month of April will again see Liverpool contest a staggering six games, which include fixtures against City, Arsenal, West Ham, and Tottenham.
