Liverpool Boss identifies prospects for midfield addition

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is currently on the lookout for players in the midfield after his decision was questioned by management.

Initially, the Reds manager didn’t want a midfielder and wanted to continue with the existing pack ahead of the new season. However, the idea of having no new players in the midfield has been questioned and the gaffer has identified prospects.

Klopp believes academy sensations Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton could be fit to join the first team setup with Liverpool.

New additions in the Liverpool Midfield

The youngsters are evolving into some of the finest talents who could be used in the midfield this season. Klopp in an interview with SkySports expressed his stance on the midfield ahead of the new season.

He said-

 “I know people think we should have signed a midfielder… actually we have.

“People forget that Harvey Elliot was our best player in the first four matches of last season and then he got a bad injury.

But we brought in Carvalho, who is incredibly interesting.

Also, Tyler Morton, who is definitely making the next steps, he played good games for us at No.6, however he is actually a No.8.”

The Liverpool boss could give more prominent roles to these youngsters considering that few players are out injured. Moreover, the gaffer is keen to groom the academy sensations and develop them to compete at the highest level.

Klopp also highlighted the flaws and injuries endured in the last season. He further said-

“We then have all the other boys. At the beginning of last season, we struggled a little bit, Hendo (Jordan Henderson) was injured, Thaigo, Naby (Keita) too.

If they all stay fit, we have an incredible amount, but also incredible football players there with all that you need, creativity, hard-working, box to box, it’s all in, we just have to use it in the right way.
