Leeds United winger Raphinha has refused to participate in the preseason. Raphinha is looking to leave Leeds in the coming days with Barcelona and Chelsea showing interest. However, Leeds have turned down offers for Raphinha several time claiming he is not for sale. Although Raphinha wants to leave the club desperately.

Barcelona had earlier made a lot of headway with Raphinha as they agreed on personal terms back in January. However, Barcelona were not able to make an official bid. This meant that other clubs could move in for him. Earlier Arsenal had agreed on terms with the Brazilian and were close to getting him at the Emirates. However, in a quick turn of events, Chelsea have swooped in and are in talks with Leeds over Raphinha. Newcastle United also had held talks with Raphinha however he rejected a move to St James Park.

Leeds and Raphinha

Raphinha found the back of the net 11 times in 35 appearances for Leeds in the Premier League. Raphinha and Leeds have had contrasting seasons last time around. While the former had a good season contributing a lot to the team and being at his personal best. Leeds on the other hand had an awful season and were close to playing in the Championship. Leeds had a very bad season as they managed to avoid relegation in the final match day as Burnley lost to Newcastle.

Due to Leeds United’s form in the Premier League and also the fact that many clubs have shown interest, Raphinha wants to leave. Raphinha is a big game player and is one of those players who is expected to play at the top level. However, he cannot do that in a club like Leeds who are threatened of relegation every season. Raphinha should move away from Leeds if he wants to play at the top.
