Manchester United’s No. 7 not included in pre-season Tour

About Football Express UK

Manchester United have officially announced their squad ahead of the Pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia, excluded Cristiano Ronaldo from the side.

United boss Erik ten Hag is all set to manage his initial matches for the club in the pre-season. The Red Devils are looking to embark upon a new journey with ten Hag which they hope would be fruitful.

The club released the squad details on their official website and it has left many intrigued regarding one aspect. Interestingly (not so interesting for United fans), the Red Devils’ main striker Cristiano Ronaldo has not been included in the squad.

Ronaldo to leave Manchester this summer?

The rumour mills regarding a possible exit for Ronaldo seem to be in full throttle with rivals Chelsea interested. Moreover, the United No. 7 decided not to participate in the pre-season training sessions citing ‘personal reasons’.

His exclusion from the tour comes right after the striker expressed his desire to leave United if a suitable offer came. However, the stance the Red Devils have maintained is that they want Ronaldo to continue till his contract runs out.

The lack of vital signings by the club has taken the wind out of his sails and hence the exit rumours. Moreover, Chelsea have stepped up in the pursuit of the player and could make a bid for £14 million.

However, Ronaldo understands the notions of the club and the fans if he moves to a direct rival like Chelsea. United are still pushing to keep him and make the necessary signings to build a competitive team.

The coming few weeks will prove to be very crucial in the developments of Ronaldo’s possible move to another club. It remains to be seen if ten Hag can pull off vital signings this summer.
