Fulham close to signing ‘forgotten’ Manchester United midfielder

About Football Express UK

Newly promoted Premier League club Fulham are close to signing Andreas Pereira from Manchester United this summer.

The newbies in the English top-flight have an agreement in place to sign the ‘forgotten’ Manchester United midfielder. Pereira is well on course to leave the club for a fee of €10m plus add-ons to join Fulham.

The decision is still yet to be made by the player but the Red Devils have agreed upon the exit. The Craven Cottage club’s boss is keen to secure the services of Pereira and is heavily invested in the transfer.

Good Deal for Manchester United?

Manchester United had loaned out the midfielder to Brazilian club Flamengo as he did not seem well within the squad. Moreover, the club decided to add the £8.5 million option to buy in Pereira’s loan contract to Flamengo.

However, the Brasileirão Série A outfit rejected the offer to buy on a permanent deal that expires on June 30. Now, with newcomers Fulham in the fray to sign Pereira for €10m appears to be a good deal for the Devils.

The midfielder would be tempted to make a return to the elite league competition in England with Fulham. However, Pereira hasn’t yet agreed to leave as he hopes to impress the new boss in town, Erik ten Hag.

That said, it would be foolish to hold back a move to Fulham only to play second fiddle under the new gaffer. United certainly will not offer a contract extension as the club still does not rate him well in the squad.

Moreover, to get minutes and experience as a regular, Pereira’s best chance would be a move to Fulham this summer. Manchester certainly have a good deal in place for the midfielder as they are able to recoup some money.

However, Pereira will have his say on the transfer very soon. A move away from the club seems to be the best option for the player and the club.
