Football pundit praises Bruno Fernandes saying he is let down by his team

Manchester United

Ally McCoist implies that the players of Manchester United are not meeting the expectations set by club captain Bruno Fernandes. Despite a challenging season for Erik Ten Hag’s team, the Portuguese international consistently stood out as a standout performer for the Red Devils.

The 29-year-old has contributed six goals and five assists in various competitions for United. However, the Manchester giants find themselves out of European competitions. And thus they currently occupy the eighth position in the Premier League standings.

In a discussion on TalkSport, McCoist has proposed that Bruno Fernandes is facing disappointment from his teammates at United. The pundit further asserted that the attacking midfielder has been the standout performer for the team this season.

What did McCoist say about Bruno Fernandes?

McCoist suggests:

“He’s probably been their best player, which you’ve got to take into account given United haven’t been good. I think he would be a top player at a top team and think he’s being dragged down a little bit, his surroundings and everything that’s going on has maybe brought him down a little bit. I think he would be the last one in the United team I’d point a finger out.”

Bruno Fernandes has undeniably stood out as Manchester United’s top player since joining the Red Devils nearly four years ago. The 29-year-old requires support and enhanced quality around him for United to regain their past glory. As currently, he appears to be carrying much of the attacking burden single-handedly.

Despite the promising potential of talents like Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United requires immediate quality to complement Fernandes. Looking ahead to the summer, Ten Hag should prioritize bringing in players who can provide the necessary service and quality to help their star player excel in the Premier League.
