Fabrizio asked Edu if Arsenal would swap Partey for Vlahovic

Manchester United

Fabrizio Romano asked Edu Gaspar if Arsenal would swap Thomas Partey and Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window.

This weekend ESPN claimed that Arsenal are prepared to sell midfielder Thomas Partey in January,

Because in a bid to raise funds for the winter window.

Arsenal are at the Premier League summit, and Arteta is eager to add to his squad to boost the Gunners’ bid for a first Premier League title in 20 years.

And also ESPN reported that the Gunners had drawn up a three-man wishlist of targets ahead of the window re-opening, with Arteta hoping to sign Douglas Luiz, Pedro Neto and Ivan Toney.

Arsenal could sell Partry to sign Vlahovic

While Partey has been linked to a departure, various reports have suggested former Arsenal target Vlahovic could depart Juventus amid the club’s financial issues.

Arsenal sporting director Edu attended Monday night’s Golden Boy award, as did Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.

Naturally, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano asked Edu whether there had been any discussions between the two directors of a swap deal between Partey and Vlahovic.

Arsenal move for Vlahovic appears unlikely at this stage, with the striker having confirmed he wants to stay at Juventus.

The 23-year-old recently told La Gazzetta dello Sport:

“I didn’t experience it as a different summer from the others, from my point of view nothing happened.

“I have always been focus and calm, even during the tour in America,

When I missed the match against AC Milan due to a physical problem. I have always been calm.

“I was always sure I want to stay. The noises are always there,

and also they are part of the game, if we start listening to everyone, we can go crazy.

“I isolated myself and only thought about the retreat and in the end I’m very happy I stay. It was what I wanted.”
