Agent says Ecuador International was the top priority of Liverpool and Arsenal

Liverpool were not the only Premier League side to outbid Chelsea for Moises Caicedo, Arsenal were also involved.

That is said by Ali Barat, the Ecuador international’s agent who recently won the Best Agent award.

Barat was a key figure in the deal that brought Moises Caicedo to Stamford Bridge from Brighton in August, with Chelsea negotiating to a record £115 million fee.

Liverpool and Arsena both are hungry for Moises Caicedo

Liverpool also wanted a player like him to conquer their no.8 position. As they were ready to pay around £111 million to Seagulls.

Thus far, currently they have Alexis Mac Allister, who operates their defensive midfield. Even he is successful yet to full-fill Jurgen Klopp’s ambition.

Barat, on the other hand, reports that Arsenal made a late bid. As Gunners were resuming their interest in the midfielder who was target of the them back in January.

Talking to Tuttosport, agent Ali Barat said:

“(Caicedo’s transfer) was a fantastic moment. The culmination of three and a half years of work. It was an exciting and also very tense moment. At the last minute, as you know, Arsenal and Liverpool also came into play.”

“It was definitely a great experience.”

Although after facing defeat at transfer table, Arsenal also made a record breaking deal via signing Declan Rice from West Ham for £120 million.

Position wise Arsenal and Liverpool are far away from Chelsea. As Arsenal are leading the table and Liverpool in the 2nd where Chelsea stand at 10th with the gap of 17 points behind Arsenal.
