Everton deciding on their transfer business this summer

Frank Lampard

Everton supporters are wondering what transfer business their club is going to do this summer. Everton just about survived being relegated this season. They had a dramatic 3-2 win over Crystal Palace and thus they live for another season in the Premier League. This win happened on the last day of the season. Many fans are expecting big changes at the club.

Everton needs to be careful.

Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell are in control of the business that will be done. All sales and purchases of players will be run through them. They have had several meetings regarding what needs to be done and what transfers shall happen. Moreover, all the fans are hoping that the mistakes that were made will be rectified and won’t happen again.

Firstly, all current problems within the squad need to be sorted out. The club has already submitted the list of the players that they wish to retain this season. The public announcement will be out soon. Jonjoe Kenny is expected to receive a new deal according to rumors. However, for other players, their time at Everton will be coming to a close. This means that a large portion of the wage bill will be free.

Finances are the biggest problem at Everton and even though the club spent a lot of money last season, they will be more reserved this season. Many fringe players could be moved on this season thus freeing up funds that can be spent. Lampard and Thelwell can reinvest funds from sales into new, better, and possibly cheaper players.

Everton players moving out

Players such as Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Andre Gomes, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina, Tom Davies, and Salomon Rondon could all move away. However, it all depends on if there is interest for these players or if the players want to move. Even Calvert Lewin and Richarlison could be moving since there is a lot of interest in these players. However, they could be loyal and stay at the club as well.

Since there are many players moving out, players will need to come into the squad as well. If Everton continues to lose out on their big stars then they will be in big trouble. To avoid this, Lampard and Thelwell will both need to come up with a good plan.
