Out of the four players, one player was not expected to be on the list. Jonjoe Kenny was offered a new contract but he has turned it down. Thus, he has decided to go elsewhere. Moreover, Kenny was an academy graduate who made 50 appearances for the club. He will depart this summer window.

Also, Gylfi Sigurdsson was Everton’s record signing. He arrived from Swansea for 40 million pounds in 2017. He was not available for selection for the whole 2021-2022 season. However, he has made 156 appearances for the club.

Next up, Cenk Tosun. He was brought in from Besiktas for 27 million pounds. However, he only made 61 appearances and scored only 11 goals. The 31-year-old striker was loaned back to his former club and then to Crystal Palace.

The fourth player that was let go was Fabian Delph. Delph was signed in 2019 from Manchester City for a cost-effective fee of 8 million. He saw 41 appearances in total for Everton. The team only won eleven points in six games at the end of the season. This was right around the time that Delph had played.

However, the club has made some contract offers. They have been able to activate the one-year extension option on backup goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic. Furthermore, third-choice keeper Andy Lonergan, was also given a new contract offer. Lonergan was part of Liverpool‘s 2019 Premier League winning team.

Also, the club is trying its best to offer a new deal to Lewis Gibson. He spent time on loan at Sheffield United. However, he was plagued with injuries and thus had a difficult season.

Thus it can be said that there are various players leaving the club. However, some players remain. All that needs to be seen is who are the new players that will come in.
