Everton and Chelsea, the points deduction cases are not the same: Ornstein explains

Chelsea

There is a storm brewing following the deduction of points from Everton and Chelsea maybe the next victim of it.

Chelsea are in hot water, and eager fans of other clubs are hoping that the Blues will be next to have points taken off them – or worse. But David Ornstein has done his best to calm things down, speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s “Five” channel.

These cases are not the same“, he explained. Everton’s case is relatively open and shut, and they’ve admitted to their wrongdoing. Whereas Chelsea are yet to be charged with anything at all, despite having notified the Premier League of wrongdoing under the previous owners. So clearly, the cases of Everton and Chelsea are not at all same.

Difference between points deduction of Everton and Chelsea:

Reports flew a few days ago that Chelsea are on the verge of a point deduction by the Premier league. This was due to some illegal and unofficial transactions made by the previous owner of Chelsea, Roman Abramovich. These transactions neither do have any official records, nor do they support the regulations of premier league. However, that was the reason why everybody feared that Chelsea will get a hefty point deduction from the premier league. Everton and Chelsea may fall in the same place when it comes to point deduction.

After the invasion of Russia in Ukraine, Roman Abramovich sold Chelsea to Todd boehly. Since then, apparently, the downfall of Chelsea started. Chelsea experienced one of the worst premier league starts of the entire PL history this season. Currently they’re quite stable after winning 2-3 games at a stretch. So a point deduction at this stage will do nothing other than worsening off their situation to the extreme.

However, the case of points deduction is not a new factor happening in the premier league. Earlier, PL also deducted points from Everton. They almost relegated from the pl. But the scenario was quite different back then. The case of Everton and Chelsea are not at all similar.
