According to The Athletic, Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe intended to personally acquire Scott McTominay from Manchester United during the January transfer window.
According to the report, Newcastle were interested in bringing the Scotland international midfielder, who plays for Manchester United, to St. James’ Park last month.
The Magpies and Eddie Howe reportedly discussed a transfer for the 26-year-old earning £60,000 per week (Spotrac).
According to the article, Newcastle manager Howe is “an fan of the midfielder’s ball-carrying skills”. It also states that the Magpies remain interested in McTominay. He may make an attempt to recruit him in the summer of 2023.
