Confirmed! West Ham United sign defender from Paris Saint-Germain

West Ham United have made their sixth major transfer this summer in the window signing defender Thilo Kehrer from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Hammers have officially signed Thilo Kehrer from PSG as David Moyes was keen to secure the player’s signature. Moreover, the defender had La Liga outfit Sevilla as one of his other options for a possible move this summer.

However, Kehrer was clear about his intentions and only wanted a move to the English Premier League for the new season. The defender signed a four-year contract with West ham along with a two-year option added to the contract.

Thilo Kehrer joins West Ham United

The 25-year-old signed for West Ham as the clubs agreed on a fee of £10.1m plus add-ons for the move. The defender can play bot has a centre-back and a full-back as he does with his national side.

Moreover, Kehrer has a lot to offer as he can also adapt to playing as a wing-back or a holding midfielder. Soon after making his move to the London stadium, he said-

“This is the best league in the world and I’m excited about coming to play in the Premier League,”

“I talked to the manager and he told me about how he sees me fitting in at the club. My biggest goal now is to get into the team, integrate myself within the group and enjoy playing for West Ham.”

Moreover, manager David Moyes also heaped praise on the new signing as he said-

“He’s a talented player, who can play in a number of defensive positions, adding strength and depth to our current options.”

Moreover, his versatility as a player will certainly add a lot to the Villa side on the pitch this season
