Aston Villa forward Cameron Archer’s future is up in the air and could be resolved in the coming weeks this summer.

The academy player is making attempts to impress Steven Gerrard in the pre-season to cement his spot as a regular. However, a big question mark has been raised regarding his future at Villa Park and whether he would stay.

The gaffer could allow him to leave this summer on a loan transfer but could hold talks with the forward. Archer’s pre-season form has been a subject of much speculation and if a transfer should really be made this window.

Archer to leave Villa on loan?

Steven Gerrard could have a talk with the forward regarding his future with Villa and explore the possibility of him staying. Moreover, the player has impressed the gaffer after Villa ran over Walsall 4-0 and got his name on the sheet.

Archer had a decent match in a win against Brisbane Roar this past week instilling confidence in the manager. The gaffer spoke on the forward after the win in Townsville, and he said-

“Cam showed everything that Cam’s about, movement, quality, could have a hat-trick but for a few good blocks but, again with Cam, if you don’t let me leave the room and I’d have to make a decision now, he’d be staying in the door.”

Surely, the gaffer has had positive feelings regarding the player’s performances during the pre-season tour in the past few weeks. Moreover, the player will be hoping to continue impressing the Villa boss to find his spot in the side.

Earlier this month, the froward spoke with Villa TV expressing his desire to stay with the club. He said-

“He [Gerrard] said at the start that he’ll let me know whether I’ll go out on loan or not at the end of the Australia tour. So, I’m going to try my best to impress him.

Obviously, I would prefer to play here but if I need to go out on loan to play games, because that’s what young players need, we’ll see.”
