Arsenal players had themselves to blame for the defeat against Manchester City.

Arsenal

Arsenal players have only themselves to blame for the defeat against Manchester City. Hence, they have to make sure that they win the game against Aston Villa.

However, for that a number of players will have to start to step up again. This is also because a number of players have underperformed in the recent matches.

ARSENAL WERE TRYING TO SO MUCH WITH THE BALL IN A LIMITED TIME

Manchester City defeated Arsenal 3-1 at Emirates. This match also meant that City are now on the top of the table. However, they have played one game more than the Gunners this season. Hence, the Gunners have to make sure they win from here on. It is also because the Premier League giants are without a win in the last four matches.

Hence, Arsenal need to win the next game against Aston Villa. They also have to make sure they do not play too much passes during attacking. It is what cost them against Manchester City. They tried too much of intricate passing that did not lead to a goal. However, Manchester City at least made sure that they hit the target in the second half.

THE PLAYERS LET DOWN MIKEL ARTETA AFTER A SPIRITED PERFORMANCE IN THE FIRST HALF

It is clear that players were not good enough in the second half of the game. They did not have the same hunger and ambition to win like Manchester City. Mikel Arteta did his best to encourage his players. However, the goals of Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish put the final nail in the coffin. It is also clear that a number of specific players let down the team in the important situations.

The most poor performance in the match was by Arsenal defender Takheiro Tomiyasu. His poor back pass gifted the opening goal to Kevin De Bruyne. The Gunners center-back Gabriel Magalhaes was also poor. His poor pass led to Jack Grealish scoring the second goal for City. Whereas, Eddie Nketiah also could not hit the target twice with no pressure on him of an City defenders.

Hence, it is clear that Arsenal players let down the manager and fans against Manchester City. However, nothing is lost. The Gunners now have brilliant players that also have the ability and experience to take the team out of difficult situations.
