According to reports, Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is in advanced negotiations to leave the club in the next summer transfer window. The report also claims that Bayer Leverkusen are negotiating a fee to sign him. Xabi Alonso wants to sign him for the Bundesliga side. Granit Xhaka also wants to make the move back to the Bundesliga in the next summer transfer window.
The report also claims that the Arsenal midfielder has almost agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga side. It looks like the Gunners have decided not to extend his contract. The Swiss midfielder’s contract ends in 2024. Hence, it looks like the Gunners want to recoup a transfer fee from his sale. However, the funds for sale are for a marquee midfielder signing.
ARSENAL ARE GENERATING FUNDS FOR DECLAN RICE
According to reports, Arsenal are hoping to make similar sales. This is for the signing of Declan Rice. Mikel Arteta sees the West Ham star midfielder as their marquee signing. Declan Rice also wants to leave the Hammers in the next summer transfer window. However, the Hammers reportedly want a transfer fee of 100-150 million for their club captain.
Therefore, Arsenal will have to sell some players for the signing of Declan Rice. The Gunners are also hoping to sell the likes of Kieran Tierney , Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga. Mikel Arteta wants to add squad depth with new quality signings for the next season. He wants to make sure that they give a more tough title challenge to Manchester City.
Arsenal are also close to agreeing contract extensions for Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka. Hence, this is the best time for them to sign Declan Rice. The contract of Declan Rice ends in 2024. Hence, West Ham are likely to negotiate a lower fee with the Gunners.
