According to Football Insider, Arsenal have taken a big step in trying to sign Youri Tielemans in the next summer transfer window. The Gunners also wanted to sign him in the last summer. However, Leicester City demanded over 25 million. Hence, it looks like the Gunners decided to wait till the next summer transfer window. They also did not make a move for him in the January transfer window.
However, Arsenal ended up signing up Jorginho on the deadline day. Although, the signing of Jorginho is not a problem. This is because Youri Tielemans likes to play in the attacking areas for his team. Whereas, Jorginho is more of a defensive midfielder. However, there is a problem that is going to potentially stop the Gunners from making Tielemans immediately sign.
BARCELONA AND NEWCASTLE UNITED CONTINUE TO MONITOR HIS SITUATION
The same report also claims that Barcelona and Newcastle United continue to monitor his situation. However, both of them are not willing to pay his high wages. Hence, Arsenal will have to also monitor their own budget before spending high wages on signing Tielemans on a free transfer. The Gunners will also have to make a decision on the future of Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Arsenal have loaned him out to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season. However, the loan deal does not include an option to buy him permanently. Hence, Lokonga will return to train with the Gunners at the start of the next season. Whereas, the Gunners are also keeping an eye on Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo. Hence, it looks, the Gunners will potentially sign Tielemans on a free transfer and someone between Rice and Caicedo to manage the summer transfer budget.
Therefore, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will have decisions to make in the summer transfer window on both incomings and outgoings. However, at the moment, the only focus is to win the Premier League trophy this season for the fans.
