ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Will Manchester City be the perfect destination for Erling Braut Haaland?

About Football Express UK

Manchester City attempted to sign Harry Kane last summer to fill the void in the centre forward position, but given they have failed to finalize a deal for the Englishman, signing Erling Braut Haaland could be a great acquisition for next season.

The Citizens have signed Argentine starlet Julian Alvarez in this January transfer window. And the forward will remain at River Plate until May. But, the reigning Premier League champions might not impose the responsibility of scoring goals at the Etihad Stadium in his first season in the Premier League. So, Pep Guardiola will demand a more established striker to achieve their lofty ambitions at the end of this season.

Meanwhile, Erling Braut Haaland will be available next summer as his release clause can be triggered in the summer transfer window. Many European giants are already plotting a move for the Norwegian sensation, and Real Madrid is tipped to be one of the favourites to land the youngster at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos are already favourites to sign Kylian Mbappe for free at the end of this season. And signing Haaland as well will be a great addition for Carlo Ancelotti’s forward line, while Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema are already there.

However, that many world-class forwards in the same team might restrict them to showcase their talents. So, Haaland should eye a move for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola will be a perfect manager to bring the best out of the Norwegian. And the Spaniard will help the forward to become a better striker. So, the Etihad Stadium could be a perfect destination for Erling Braut Haaland.

Can Manchester City sign Erling Haaland next summer?

Manchester City hierarchy is always open to giving Pep Guardiola money to improve the squad to go all the way in the Champions League. Last season they came closest but failed to overtake the final hurdle. As they were beaten by Chelsea in the final.

The Citizens played excellently on the day but failed to break down the opposition defence. On that day they felt the requirement of a world cup striker. Therefore, they went all-in for Harry Kane this summer. But, Tottenham Hotspur didn’t want to lose their talisman.

So, Manchester City should go for Erling Braut Haaland next summer. The forward is much younger than the Englishman and has already showcased his goal-scoring prowess at the Signal Iduna Park.
