Transfers: Arsenal wants to hijack players from Manchester City

Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal are in the market for new players as they have lost a Champions League spot. Arsenal have targeted Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City as potential targets.

The Gunners need a new forward before the upcoming season as they do not have the services of a proper striker. Aubameyang left the club back in January leaving a big hole in the club. Moreover, Alexandre Lacazette has confirmed he will be leaving the club in the Summer. Although Arsenal does possess and in form Eddie Nketiah, His contract is up next Summer. Moreover, Arsenal haven’t made any progress with Nketiah’s contract so far. Arsenal, however, have shown interest in Gabriel Jesus who is looking to leave the club. Jesus is out of options as City has signed Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez which would give him limited game time.

Arsenal are also in the run of Zinchenko as they want to strengthen their defense. Arsenal have had a shaky defense however the addition of Ramsdale and Ben White last Summer had strengthened their defense. However, they were out of options when their regulars got injured over the season as they do not possess any backup. However, Arteta believes Zinchenko is a good option. Zinchenko has great holding ability and is a decent full-back. Arteta could try Zinchenko in the midfield and switch him to a holding midfielder position.

Zinchenko has high praise from teammate Kyle Walker

In fact, Zinchenko is highly rated by everyone including his teammates. Kyle Walker had said,

“Not in any order, because I wouldn’t want to put them in any order, my top three are Zinchenko, Mahrez, Silva, He’s incredible, incredible. Two touches, head tennis, he’s incredible. So good, so, so good. And then you’re leaving the likes of  De Bruyne out, Phil Foden, Cancelo. But they don’t come close to those three.”
