Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea: News Update

Tottenham Sutton

Tottenham Hotspur are eager to secure consecutive Premier League victories. They travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to take on Chelsea, and Conte’s side would be eager to take advantage of a vulnerable Chelsea.

The Lilywhites started the season with a bang. They thrashed Southampton 4-1 on home soil last weekend, with Sessegnon, Dier, and Kulusevski all scoring alongside a Salisu own goal. Antonio Conte now returns to Stamford Bridge, likely to end Spurs’ five-game losing streak against the West Londoners.

The North London side will continue with their fine form, while Chelsea struggles to keep a strong squad with many outgoings. The Blues’ most recent departure was Timo Werner who returned to Leipzig in the Bundesliga. They have also missed out on many key targets. Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Kounde have all joined Barcelona, while Gabriel Jesus has joined Arsenal. They’re lack of a proper striker may hurt them, despite reinforcements arriving in the form of Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling, among others.

Tottenham Hotspur: Injury Report

Spurs are fortunate to start with most of their key players fully fit. The only injuries to the North London side are that of Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga.

Oliver Skipp suffered a hairline fracture of his heel during training. He is likely to be out for a few more weeks. Spurs’ matchday squad against Southampton did not name Tanganga due to illness. If he will play a part or not, remains to be seen.
