Tottenham Hotspur ridiculous bid for Maddison and Barnes duo

Tottenham Sutton

Tottenham have offered £50m for James Maddison and Harvey Barnes after Leicester City were relegated from the Premier League. This is according to various reports.

The Foxes couldn’t survive on the final day of the Premier League season despite beating West Ham 2-1. That is with Everton’s win at home to Bournemouth enough to keep them up.

Maddison and Barnes were two of Leicester’s brightest sparks in a miserable season for the club. It is with the former contributing ten goals and nine assists in the league. While the latter bagged 13 goals and provided one assist for his team-mates.

Maddison and Barnes would like a move to a Premier League club and Tottenham are favourites

Both players are expected to exceed the £50 million valuation, so for Spurs to offer this for the two players combined is very optimistic.

James Maddison has been quoted alone to be worth the 50–60 million mark. So there is no way that Leicester are going to accept an offer of this calibre for two of their best players.

This may be a case of Spurs testing the waters and seeing what Leicester really want for the pair. It is because it will be a surprise if they genuinely think they can get the two Englishmen for that price.

If you had to guess, you could estimate Tottenham having to pay closer to the £100 million mark for the pair than the £50 million. 50 million is just too ridiculous.

The main rivals to Newcastle for Maddison are Tottenham Hotspur. And the Daily Mail claim that Spurs have made the first move for the 26-year-old.

A £50 million bid is said to have been submitted to the Foxes. But that isn’t just for maverick midfielder Maddison as his team-mate Harvey Barnes is included in the package as well.

With Leicester said to want ‘around £40 million each’ for the pair per The Sun only a couple of weeks ago, it is expected that the Spurs offer will be laughed off.
