Celtic are reportedly in talks with Tottenham Hotspurs in order to sign a deal for Joe Hart. He is one of the most experienced goalkeepers in the world.
The 34-year-old English goalkeeper has 10 appearances for Tottenham Hotspurs in the 2020-21 campaign. He has 12 months remaining with the club.
However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Celtic are in discussion with the Premier League club Spurs over a potential deal in the current market.
The ex Manchester City goalkeeper has featured on 24 occasions for Burnley earlier before joining Tottenham on a free transfer.
Hart has played 340 matches in the Premier League during his career. He also has 39 appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
Will Celtic be able to sign Joe Hart from Tottenham this summer?
Celtic will not be able to play this season’s Champions League as they lost to FC Midtjylland 2-1 in the second leg of their second qualifying round contest on Wednesday night.
According to football.london, Joe Hart doesn’t have a future under the new manager Nuno Espirito Santo. So he has a chance to leave the club right now, rather than waiting for his chance to play for the club.
According to the reports, the two-time Premier League winner is not the main transfer for the Australians. But could trigger some difficulties down the line if Hart indeed does sign for Celtic.
According to The Athletic, the talks are underway between the Hoops and the Lilywhites after the initial discussion last summer. Let’s see now whether the Scotist giants will sign the ex English goalkeeper or not. It depends on his transfer fee offered by Tottenham to them.
However, the move is somewhat troubling considering Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou’s decision on Hart.
As it stands, though, his chances look somewhat more positive north of the border than with Spurs at the current time.
