The Predicted Line-up of Liverpool against Arsenal

About Football Express UK

Liverpool will welcome Arsenal on Saturday evening in a crucial Premier League encounter where the Reds will have to go head-to-head against an in-form Mikel Arteta’s side.

Jurgen Klopp’s side didn’t have a great time in the last two league games as they failed to beat Brighton & Hove Albion at home despite leading the game by 2-0 and ended up conceding two goals and lost to West Ham by 3-2 ahead of the international break

On the other hand, Arsenal is currently unbeaten in the last eight league games and won six of them. Therefore, despite starting the season on a disappointing note, the north London club is currently sitting fifth in the table with 20 points in 11 games, only two points behind the fourth-placed Liverpool.

How Liverpool might line up against Arsenal:

Jurgen Klopp has been consistent with the formation and his playing style since arriving at Merseyside. So, the German boss will surely go with his preferred 4-3-3 formation and Alisson will start between the sticks.

Virgil Van Dijk will surely keep his place at centre back. It will be interesting to see who will partner the Dutchman at the heart of the defence. Joel Matip started against West Ham and the Reds conceded three goals. Therefore Klopp might be tempted to go for Ibrahima Konate. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will start at both full-back positions.

Meanwhile, Fabinho has struggled with fitness issues so far this season and hasn’t been able to display his brilliance on the pitch. But, he might start in this encounter in the centre-defensive midfield position.

Club captain Jordan Henderson will start on the right side of the midfield. The German boss will be trying to implement his trademark high-intensity game against Arsenal. So, he might go with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the other side of the midfield ahead of Thiago Alcantara.

Meanwhile, In-form Mohamed Salah will start on the left-flank and Senegalese Sadio Mane will be on the other side. Due to the injury to Roberto Firminho, the Brazilian will have to remain sidelined for this encounter and Portugal international Diogo Jota will start in the centre-forward position.

Liverpool predicted line-up against Arsenal:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Mane, Jota.

Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal:

Despite Arsenal’s unbeaten run in the recent games, Mikel Arteta’s side will have to encounter the biggest challenge since their awful start to the season. So, it will be hard for the young Gunners to take away any positive results against Liverpool from Anfield.
