Former Man United star and football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has excelled since he joined Saudi side Al-Nassr. The Portuguese has scored remarkable 50 goals in 2023, breaking several records. The all-time highest goal scorer in football is 38 years old and still going strong in the Saudi Pro League. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 40 goals for Al-Nassr, and 10 coming from international matches for Portugal. While breaking several records and surpassing many players, CR7 has failed to surpass a former Al Nassr player in goal tally. Nicknamed ‘The Executioner’ in Saudi, Abderrazak Hamdallah joined Al-Nassr in 2018 from Qatari side Al-Rayyan. In the following year, Abderrazak Hamdallah scored a whopping 57 goals for Al-Nassr in the 2019 calendar year. Cristiano Ronaldo can still beat his record if he fires up until the end of the year, but with very few games in hand, it looks increasingly unlikely.

Abderrazak Hamdallah left Al-Nassr at the start of 2022, to join rivals Al-Ittihad in the Saudi league. From playing in Ronaldo’s current club, to playing alongside Karim Benzema, Hamdallah has always been a prolific goal scorer. He has now scored 13 goals in 18 appearances for Al-Ittihad this season. But the 32-year-old has never made it in Europe and has only scored 6 goals in 24 appearances for Morocco National team. It shows the contrast of quality between European leagues and Saudi Pro league. Hamdallah has been a dangerous goal scorer in the Saudi league but has failed to display similar caliber in other competitions.

However, it cannot be debated that the Portuguese is one of the best football players to grace the pitch, if not the best. And despite being 38 years old, he continues to top the charts and giving his all for the game. Ronaldo has made it clear that he is not retiring anytime soon. Whether playing for a low intensity Saudi league, or playing in the highest stage, CR7 continues to entertain the fans with his talent.
