Tech giants Apple linked with surprise bid for Manchester United

American technology company Apple is reportedly considering a move to take over Manchester United.

According to British sources, the tech giants have shown interest in buying United. They are currently considering a formal offer.

After protests by the United fanbase and many years of struggle on and off the pitch, the Glazer family put United on sale on Tuesday. They said they will “explore strategic alternatives“.

The Raine Group currently acts as United’s financial advisor. They were also involved in the sale of fellow Premier League side Chelsea. Latham & Watkins LLP are the United management’s legal counsel while Rothschild and Co. are the financial advisors to Glazer family shareholders.

Who else has an interest in Manchester United?

Over the last many days, several parties emerged interested in buying the Red Devils. Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega, India’s Mukesh Ambani, and the Dubai International Capital are all touted as possible suitors. Also, one of England’s richest men, Sir Jim Radcliffe leads the pack, showing great interest in acquiring his boyhood club.

Almost the entire Manchester United fanbase shares a visceral hatred for the Glazers. Regardless of who replaces them, as long as the club’s vision and direction change for the better, it will be a win for them.
