Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski is said to be open to a move to Chelsea or PSG lest the move to Barcelona falls through. The 33-year-old forward clearly wants to leave the Bundesliga giants this transfer window. After eight years in Germany, scoring 344 goals in 375 appearances across all competitions, he has decided that it is time for a new challenge.

The club made an opening offer for Lewandowski which was quickly denied by Bayern, said Laporta. The Catalan outfit are allegedly planning to make an improved bid of €50m (£42m).

Lewandowski looking at Chelsea as well

In case the Catalan giant’s deal for Lewandowski doesn’t go through, both Chelsea and PSG will compete for his signature. A move to Stamford Bridge would be the striker’s preferred destination if he is unable to move to Catalonia. Chelsea, reportedly have contacted Lewandowski’s agents. Looks like they are on the lookout for a new striker, after the temporary departure of Lukaku to Inter Milan.

Despite Barcelona’s financial concerns, they hope to sign both Lewandowski and Leeds United attacker Raphinha. The deal with Raphinha has went through at £58m plus add-ons by the Premier League club.

Barcelona looks like having a strong squad that can actually cause menace and competes for titles after having a season to forget. With Madrid making crucial additions to bolster their defense, looks like El Classico would be fun to watch this year. Also, this means, the Spanish league title will probably be fought harder this year as well. With not just big teams going head to head, there are going to be a number of individual battles to look out for as well.

Also, Tuchel’s side will look to grab a strong forward this transfer window if they want to compete for titles.
