However, one positive thing has happened after this match. We saw Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland praise praise the United goalkeeper, Andre Onana.

Onana stopped the ball going into the net 7 times against City. And that has helped the team kept the scoreline bearable at least.

His most important save was the two hand save wherein he stopped Erling Haaland’s bullet header. However, the team commited several errors due to which he couldn’t have a clean sheet. But he has shown the fans that he is upto something great if given the required confidence.

Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland praise Onana: Post match interview insights.

Speaking to the media after the match, the City boss was seen praising the opposition goalkeeper.

“Erling had an incredible chance towards the dying minutes of the first half through his header but thier keeper makes an incredible save.” – Says Guardiola.

Even the main man of the match has been heard appreciating the keeper.

“He made an incredible save just before when the half time was approaching. He did it again with his head in the second half when I tried to chip him.” -Says Haaland

During the pre season, Onana made several errors which in turn, questioned his ability. People were doubting that if he can reach to half of the level of standard what De Gea has set.

According to unitedinfocus, the goalkeeper has gained back his confidence after his penalty save against FC Copenhagen. Moreover, it seems like he has learnt from his mistakes done in the pre season and now is working hard for the team. It would be interesting to see what level of performance he shows in his debut season.
