Nico Williams to Liverpool: The move could be possible due to FIFA rules.

Liverpool

Liverpool are aiming to further strengthen their attack in the coming transfer window. They are targeting the Athletic Bilbao youngster Nico Williams. Last summer, Aston Villa made an offer to the player worth €50 million. But both the player and the club rejected the offer. Moreover, it was the middle of the season and the young attacker wasn’t willing to leave Spain with a considerable amount of time left in his contract. Nico Williams to Liverpool could be a possible scenario if the player doesn’t extends his contract in 2024. Moreover, the Reds can make an offer way better than Aston Villa. However, they have to keep in mind the other competitions as well. Certain reports have emerged stating the intrest of Real Madrid and Manchester United in the young Spain international.

Liverpool have been tracking Williams for a while now and it seems that this transfer can be a possibility this time. However, even if it doesn’t happen, the Reds need not worry as they have one of the most fearful attacking options in Europe.

Why Nico Williams to Liverpool could be a possibility?

As per Anfieldcentral, Athletic Bilbao and Nico Williams are having a tough time over negotiating the player’s contract extension. The main problem for the club here is the player’s demand. Williams wants a short term realistically possible release clause in his contract wherein he can decide over his future.

According to the FIFA Rules, players who have 6 months or less remaining in their contract can discuss their future plans with a new club. The same is being don by Liverpool players Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Adrian. Nico Williams is no exception to this list and he can negotiate with the Reds if he wants to. Now it completely depends upon the fact that how are Liverpool gonna take the advantage of this situation.
