Newcastle United are in talks with agent Giuliano Bertolucci for the transfer of Vasco youngster Andrey Santos. The youngster is a highly-rated player for many clubs.
Newcastle United faces competition from La Liga giants
According to reports, Barcelona are interested in signing the Brazilian from Vasco. However, they are facing completion from Newcastle United. In addition, Jodi Cruyff is working with Andre Cury who is Barcelona’s representative in South America.
Newcastle United offered to pay £35 million in cash for the signing of Andrey Santos.
But the offer never reached officially to the club. Besides Vasco are demanding £40 million of Andrey Santos’s release clause should be offered for the transfer.
Barcelona are struggling with their own financial issues. The club might face a shock exit from the Champions League which means the club will have a loss of £20m. And do not want to pay what the club is asking for. Newcastle on the other hand have no problem in offering the amount due to their financial strength.
Therefore a move to Barcelona looks difficult. Barcelona will try to negotiate with Vasco by offering a percentage that will help Vasco strengthen their future finances.
Newcastle will look to bring the young talented Brazilian to the Premier League.
