Chelsea are going to play against Sheffield United this weekend. The blues are currently at the 12 place in the league. They are closer to the relegation zone than the top 4. On the other hand, Sheffield are at the bottom of the table and they show no signs of improvement. Chelsea would be looking for a win against Sheffield in order to gain some confidence. However, there’s a bad news for the blues. Their main goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez has picked up an injury against Everton. He left the field in the dying minutes of the match. Serbian goalkeeper Dorde Petrovic came in his place. Now the 24 year old Serbian goalkeeper has to lead the goalline for Chelsea against Sheffield. As per the reports, Mauricio Pochettino trusts the young goalkeeper and believes that he can take care of things at his position.
According to metrouk, Chelsea is stacked with injuries at the moment. Players like Reece James, Mark Cucurella and now Robert Sanchez are all dealing with their injuries. Moreover, the club is not in a good position in the league. They have to perform reasonably well in order to atleast have a chance at the top 4 this season.
Mauricio Pochettino trusts Dodre Petrovic and that can boost the goalkeeper’s confidence.
Speaking in a pre match press conference, Mauricio Pochettino was seen praising Dodre Petrovic.
“We’ve lost Robert Sanchez to injury. It’s sad because when players like him with senior experience are out, the team misses them. Moreover, the competition isn’t going to stop. We have to deal with the situation with the available players and resources. I have faith in Petrovic. I believe in all my players that they can perform well. Petrovic surely has a lot of potential, that’s why he was brought to Chelsea”. – Mauricio Pochettino said.
