Manchester Utd: 20% of Pereira’s sell-on clause may benefit the club

About Football Express UK

The past few years have seen Manchester Utd struggle to offload players. Many remaining with the club on lengthy contracts.

After spending two years on loan at Lazio and Flamengo, Andreas Pereira finally moved on in 2022.

He agreed to a £10 million agreement with Fulham, which was a great bargain for the midfielder.

Pereira has been doing for Fulham. Because of this a crucial aspect of the deal may soon make Manchester Utd selling appear even more favourable.

According to an ESPN story, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain both interested in Andreas Pereira. Linked to leaving Fulham.

Although this comes as a surprise, Brazilian publication TNT Sports confirmed it and claims Juventus also interested.

A sell-on option incorporated as part of the conditions of Manchester Utd agreement to sell Andreas Pereira last summer.

According to The Athletic, United and Fulham agreed to a 20% sell-on clause.

According to ESPN, Fulham could fight for £35 million for Pereira, which would allow Manchester Utd to profit by £7 million in bonus money, nearly double the price the midfielder was sold for.

Pereira has six assists in all competitions for Fulham. Pereira has thrived for Marco Silva’s team, but his time at Old Trafford this week ended in a demoralising FA Cup quarterfinal loss.

He must finish the season strongly if he wants to get a significant transfer to one of the interested teams, but if he does, Manchester Utd will be happy since the sell-on clause appears to be a wise move.
