Manchester United may sign another striker in this window

Manchester United

Manchester United may end up signing a striker on loan in the January transfer window. Meanwhile, they are eyeing signing another forward after the recent recruitment of Wout Weghorst.

Moreover, Weghorst joined United from Burnley in the January transfer window on a six-month loan deal. The Dutch forward had a good performance for both Burnley and the Dutch national team. These performances helped him to earn a move to Old Trafford as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 30-year-old Dutch striker began his senior career at Emmen and went on to play for various clubs in the Netherlands, Germany, and England. In January 2022, Weghorst signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Burnley for a fee of £12 million.

The Dutch striker has already started to show threat up top and hold-up play to Erik ten Hag’s side. However, as per Daily Mail, Manchester United are still searching for another striker for a loan deal.

Manchester United to sign a big name in summer

Erik ten Hag might go on to sign a backup striker for a small loan fee. Meanwhile, the future of the young duo of Facundo Pellestri and Anthony Elanga remains at bay.

Both the young United prodigies have lacked game time this season. As a result, there is a high possibility that they would be sent out on loan. Valencia has shown interest in Pellistri while Borussia Dortmund wants Elanga.

If both of them leave, then United may sign a replacement as a loanee. Moreover, The Red Devil’s management are preparing to sign a big name in the summer transfer window. Manchester United can target Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, or Goncalo Ramos in the summer transfer window.

As things stand, the main goalscoring responsibilities have fallen on the shoulders of Marcus Rashford. So, the United management can take a chance on another attacker.

As a result, it remains to be seen how things unfold at the end of the winter transfer window.
