Manchester City vs Brentford: Preview and Predicted Line-up

About Football Express UK

Following a comfortable victory against Fulham in the FA Cup fourth round game, Manchester City will welcome newly-promoted side Brentford in a crucial Premier League encounter on Wednesday night.

Despite trailing the game, Pep Guardiola’s side managed to progress through to the next round of the F.A Cup after beating the Londoners by 4-1 thanks to a brace from Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan and John Stones scored the other two goals.

Meanwhile, the Citizens won the reverse fixture against the Bees at the Brentford Community Stadium. The visitors will be looking to come away with a positive result from this encounter but it is highly unlikely.

The reigning Premier League champions are coming into this fixture as the league leader with 57 points in 23 games, nine points ahead of the second-placed Liverpool having played an extra game.

On the other hand, Brentford is going through a rough period as they have lost the last five consecutive games in all competitions.

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa missed out on the last game against Everton in the F.A Cup after being tested positive for Coronavirus. But they might be available for this game. Mathias Jorgensen, Tarique Fosu, Julian Jeanvier and Christian Eriksen might be sidelined on Wednesday.

Manchester City 3-0 Brentford

Manchester City is enjoying a great spell at the moment. And they are currently unbeaten in more than three months in the Premier League. So, it will be an extremely difficult task for Brentford to stop Pep Guardiola’s side from achieving all three points from this encounter.
