Manchester City are hoping that Erling Haaland gets fit for the game against Arsenal. Both the fans of the club have also called the game the title decider for this season.
However, Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he will not risk Haaland for the Gunners. Therefore, Arsenal have received a major boost before the important title clash.
MANCHESTER CITY ARE CONCERNED WITH THE ERLING HAALAND INJURY
Manchester City won the game against Aston Villa 3-1. This win also means that they are only 3 points behind table toppers Arsenal. Hence, the title race has also got exciting. This also makes the game against Arsenal more important than ever. However, Pep Guardiola will have to deal with one big problem before the important game. The star striker Erling Haaland has suffered an injury. He played brilliantly against Aston Villa. However, Pep had to take him off at the half time.
The Manchester City manager Pep has said that he will not take the risk of playing a half-fit Haaland against Arsenal. This is because another injury to him would potentially end his season. Pep further said, “Right now I don’t know. We will have to see over the next few days.‘He got a knock and was uncomfortable so at 3-0 up we didn’t want to take the risk. We will assess him and if he’s not ready we will play someone else. Hopefully he is ready.’
IAN WRIGHT IS HOPEFUL THAT ARSENAL CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION
Arsenal legend Ian Wright is also hopeful that the Gunners can take advantage of the injury to the Manchester City striker. He has also said that the injury to Haaland gives the Gunners more chance to win the game. The Arsenal legend has also said that the Sky Blues do struggle to create chances on goal without Erling Haaland. He has also said that Arsenal will be ready for all the situations. This is because this is the game that will potentially decide the Premier League title this season.
Ian Wright on the Manchester City striker injury further said, “We saw what he [Haaland] can do with his stretching of the team which is something that can cause problems, but it was always going to be a tough game for Arsenal,’. “We’ve seen what City are capable of without Haaland. It’s a game that Arsenal need to win, they need to win their home games and City are coming there now knowing if they win that game they’ll go top.
There is also a chance that Manchester City will revert back to four defenders for the game against Arsenal. This is because of the dangers of Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. It is also because of the injury to Erling Haaland. However, City will not park the bus in the game because they can go top of table if they can defeat Arsenal.
