Man United U-19 star captains England youth side in 8-goals thriller

England under-19 team just recently thrashed Mexico 7-1 and lifted the Marbella Cup in a thrilling match. Man United youth player captained the England side in the tournament and being an important player for the team. Kobbie Mainoo featured in a series of fixtures for the England side along with an appearance off the bench in 6-0 win over Romania. The 18 year old is recovering from an injury, with a stellar way to come back to full fitness. Kobbie Mainoo contributed with 2 assists in the match against Mexico. He eventually lifted the trophy as the England under-19 captain.

Bright future ahead for the 18 year old

Man United will be delighted to know that they have a starlet with great potential in the squad. The young midfielder has been performing well for England under-19s and may get a chance in the United first team. Erik Ten Hag must be watching the youngster closely as he progresses through an injury. Ten Hag gave the midfielder a chance against Everton, which was his first appearance for the Red Devils this season. Kobbie is widely considered as one of the brightest young prospects in English Football. Mainoo hopes to captain the Man United first team someday pushing up the ranks for the Red Devils. However, for now, he stays one of the youngsters United rely on to carry the famous red shirt.

Man United youth Goalkeeper Elyh Harrison also featured in the cup final. Playing full 90 minutes for the England under-19s, Elyh just conceded once. He had been part of the squad in earlier matches with Romania and Japan but was not given a chance until the Cup final against Mexico. The Goalkeeper is also one of the talents Man United have in their squad for the future.
