Man United defensive midfielder linked to a PSG transfer in January

Manchester United

Man United defensive midfielder Casemiro is linked with a transfer away from the club. With previous rumors of a transfer to Saudi Clubs Al Hilal or Al Nassr, new reports are coming of a possible transfer to PSG. Casemiro arrived at the Old Trafford in 2022 after winning the Champions League in a miracle season with Real Madrid. The Brazilian performed well initially with some goals at the crucial moments for the Red Devils. However, his performances declined with time in Manchester, including being sidelined due to injury. Casemiro did perform well for United last season but this season has been a disappointment for the 31-year-old.

Saudi pro league or PSG for Casemiro?

There is a report from Fichajes, which claims that PSG are in the middle of a three-way battle to sign Casemiro. With interests from two Saudi Pro League clubs Al Hilal and Al Nassr, Saudi can be a good option for the aging defensive midfielder. The Brazilian will find former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr, whereas longtime rival Neymar in Al Hilal. Saudi offers attractive wages to players, which can be a stable retirement plan for the player. Whereas, if he opts to challenge on a big level in Europe, PSG can be a viable option. The Brazilian may have to choose soon with the January transfer window approaching in 10 days.

Man United have to look for replacements in defensive midfield role

Man United have been awful this season and look to improve their form before the season ends to secure the top 4 spot. But they are without a proper defensive midfielder except Casemiro, which can be a great challenge ahead. United need to reinforce the defensive midfield position if they want to allow Casemiro to leave in January.
