FIFA’s plan to revamp the Club World Cup appears to be advantageous for Man City.
The Champions League winners receive admission on behalf of European clubs. The Club World Cup has historically been an afterthought for many clubs. Wintertime tournaments are not particularly difficult for Champions League champions to win. The reason behind this is that the European representative enters the tournament in the semifinals. A victory in just two games would guarantee victory.
The 2022 edition’s champions were Real Madrid. Thus the competition will remain unchanged for the ensuing two years until being changed in 2025. As a result of such modifications, 32 teams will be participate starting in 2025. The Times has described the possible qualification processes. Man City are one of them.
Eight of the twelve European positions done by coefficient rankings. With the other four berths going to the 2022–2025 Champions League champions. Importantly, though, there would only be two teams per nation to ensure that the competition is diverse.

Man City about to receive a significant boost
It’s unclear when the cutoff would occur. But to give you an idea, Man City are now in second place. Bayern Munich are at the top of UEFA’s club coefficients. Currently, Paris Saint-Germain is in fifth place, Chelsea is fourth, and Liverpool is third.
If the plans are implemented, the leading Premier League coefficient team would also qualify. If one English team were to win the Champions League in the upcoming three years. However, if two different English teams won UEFA’s biggest tournament during that time, the coefficient rankings would not matter.
With their coefficient rankings and the likelihood that they will continue at the top. Man City will be expecting to win the Champions League over the upcoming years. But they should have a safety net in case they don’t. Manchester United are now in eighth place. They are 34,000 points behind Liverpool in third place, has a lot of ground to make up.
The competition’s location has also not yet been determined. The Premier League and The Global Leagues Forum reject the modifications, alleging that FIFA was not consulted.
