Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah, the FWA Footballer of the Year and the PFA Players’ Player of the Year for 2021/22, inks a three-year contract extension at Anfield. Salah’s previous deal was set to expire at the conclusion of the next season. Moreover, by agreeing to a new three-year deal, Mohamed Salah has put an end to rumors regarding his Liverpool future.
The previous deal for the Egyptian forward was set to expire in the summer. He is now the highest-paid player in club history thanks to his new contract, which pays him around £350,000 per week. The agreement nevertheless adheres to the club’s sustainable salary structure and includes bonuses for goals scored.
Liverpool keep Salah
To complete the paperwork, Sporting Director Julian Ward flew out to meet Salah, who was on vacation. FSG president Mike Gordon provided guidance during discussions with Ramy Abbas Issa, the forward’s agent.
Also, Salah’s extension comes after Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff signed contracts through the end of 2026 in late April. Sadio Mane was transferred to Bayern Munich last month after Liverpool, who had already signed Darwin Nunez for the next season, was unable to persuade him to sign a contract extension.
It was absolutely vital for Jurgen Klopp to keep this star attacker. Furthermore, this is especially needed after Sadio Mane left the club for a fee of 30 million pounds. He went to Bayern Munich. Klopp has taken the approach to sign young talent. This is seen in the form of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. However, these players need to look up to senior players to learn how to play the system. Salah will be the perfect teacher for these youngsters. Moreover, Roberto Firmino also will do a good job to teach these players. Diogo Jota lit the team up as soon as he joined. The same was seen with Luis Diaz. And now, Nunez is going to receive the same treatment.
