Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for 45m!

Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal have signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for a fee of around 45M. Jesus is the fourth signing for the Gunners this season along with Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, and Matt Turner. Arsenal have an experienced player up front for the first time since Aubameyang left the club in January.

Arsenal had been lacking in the forwards department for some time. The Gunners have had a lack of forwards ever since their forwards went through a rough patch. Aubameyang went through a rough patch and was left out of the squad. Lacazette was not up to the mark this season and younger players were chosen ahead of him. Moreover, Nicholas Pepe has been unable to live up to his expectations ever since arriving at the Emirates. Arsenal have lacked a real goalscorer this season and this weakness led to them finishing 5th and missing out on the Champions League.

However, Arsenal have got hold of Gabriel Jesus who is a proven goal scorer. Jesus was the main man up front for City this season as Sergio Aguero left the club. Jesus has done his part in his absence however City wants more. City got hold of two strikers in the form of Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland. Both these players especially the latter are generational talents. However, this also meant that Jesus would not be able to get much game time and looked for a move away.

Jesus is a perfect fit

Arsenal have the perfect player in Gabriel Jesus. Jesus has worked with Mikel Arteta during his tenure as an assistant coach at Manchester City. More importantly, Arteta intends to employ his style of quick passing forward football which is similar to the one City employs. Jesus has been playing with City for years and has adapted to the style very well. Jesus can fit into the squad very easily and adapt to the Arsenal style.
