Sadio Mane has confirmed he will leave Liverpool in the Summer. Mane leaves after winning every trophy possible with Liverpool – Champions League, Premier League, FA cup, Club World cup, Carabao cup, and more.
Mane was Klopp‘s first signing for Liverpool and it is pretty safe to say he has been “decent”. Having played in 263 appearances in the Premier League, Mane has scored 111 goals and has assisted 38 times. Mane has been Klopp’s first success as Liverpool manager. As he leaves in the Summer, he leaves a legacy that others in his place must fulfill or at least match up to.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have shown interest in the Senegal man. However, Bayern remains the front runner for Mane.
Possible Replacement
Liverpool are in the market for new players in the Summer. As Mane is leaving, Klopp needs to find someone who could bring the same quality that Mane possessed. However, it is very unlikely Liverpool will be able to find someone as good as Mane was. Although they can find someone who can match his talents or maybe even go further.
Christopher Nkunku
Nkunku has been in amazing form for RB Leipzig this season. He has produced astronomical numbers, this is even more impressive considering he just transitioned into a center forward this season. Nkunku has done a similar role as Mane has done this season. Both players have been playing a central role this season and have been amazing for their respective teams. Nkunku could be the perfect replacement for Liverpool however there are rumors that Manchester United are in the run.
As Ten Hag is in the market for new forwards, He has identified Nkunku as a possible target. However, Liverpool may have the advantage as United does not play in the Champions League in the Summer. Although, the fact that Nkunku is a United fan does not help.
