Liverpool might successfully sign Gravenberch before window ends

Liverpool

Liverpool may make a definite move for Ryan Gravenberch during this summer. They could potentially swiftly secure his transfer. The process could accelerate if they proceed with concrete steps in pursuing the Dutch player.

Christian Falk has reported that the ex-Ajax midfielder is receptive to the possibility of joining either Manchester United or Liverpool. However, Liverpool is leading the way in the pursuit for his signature.

The journalist said: “I think Gravenberch is open to both clubs, Liverpool and Manchester United. He’s very interested in the Premier League.”

Liverpool remains enthusiastic about the idea of bolstering their squad with a versatile midfield player during this summer transfer window. Simultaneously, there exists an urgent requirement to reinforce their defensive options before the window concludes on September 1st.

Will Liverpool pursuit of Gravenberch be successful?

It’s reasonable to assume that additional rounds of negotiation might be necessary if Liverpool initiates the process with a £20 million bid. This outcome is predictable. Considering that the Bavarian club would merely experience a marginal profit over the £16.3 million they invested to secure the player from the Eredivisie.

Gravenberch had limited playing time, totaling 937 minutes across all competitions, and only 559 minutes in the Bundesliga. Hence, one could argue that there might be minimum grounds for complaints regarding a relatively modest offer.

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be unbelieveable if Liverpool’s recruitment team has to consider increasing their offer to successfully conclude this transfer. This approach would ensure that the team is sufficiently well-equipped in the midfield, striving to cover all possible bases.
