Mason Mount, a star for Chelsea, is apparently being offered to Atletico Madrid. In exchange for Joao Felix, giving Liverpool new optimism that they can sign the English international. The midfielder’s contract expires in just under 18 months, and Jürgen Klopp has always liked him as a talent.

Mount, who is valued at £66 million by Transfermarkt, has been a crucial member of Chelsea’s starting eleven. He has contributed to Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, and Graham Potter.

Fans have recently criticised him for his performances. Given the state of his contract, there is growing uncertainty over his future in Klopp starting 11. The 24-year-contract old’s expires in 18 months, and negotiations to extend it appear to be at a standstill.

In order to prevent losing him for free in the summer of 2024, Chelsea appears to be more willing to let him leave this summer. According to Marca, the Blues have already made an offer to Atletico for Mount as they look to reduce the cost of a permanent Felix signing.

The new information suggests that Klopp might have a chance to try to sign the player for Liverpool. According to The Guardian, the club is also keeping an eye on his condition. The German tries to rebuild his midfield.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool midfield in turmoil

Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Thiago have all struggled with injuries this season, and this has greatly weakened Liverpool’s midfield. Mount would be the ideal player to assist in resolving this issue, especially given his superior press skills.

Klopp has previously praised Mount, saying in 2019 that he was already worth more than £60 million. After a Chelsea-Reds game, he declared: “Tammy Abraham is now a £60 million player, Mason Mount is definitely a £60 million player, if not more, and Callum Hudson-Odoi was that already.”

Furthermore, Alan Hutton, a former Rangers and Tottenham defender, has advised Mount to explore for alternative options if Chelsea do not value him as highly as they should.
