Regarding to a summer transfer to Anfield, Liverpool “might place an opening bid” for Fluminense midfielder Andre, according to a report from renowned journalist Neil Jones. Andre is being touted as among Liverpool’s top transfer targets as the Reds try to fill the vacated No. 6 position left by Fabinho, who moved to join Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad. The Reds might have ‘accelerated their pursuit’ of Andre as a result of the second rejection of Liverpool’s bid for Romeo Lavia.

Liverpool have ‘accelerated their pursuit’ for signing Andre Trindade

Brazilian media reports as saying that the Reds will shortly make a bid to buy Andre for £21.5 million. With the start of the season just around the corner, Liverpool’s ongoing midfield “rebuild” has been under the limelight for a while. However it’s still not complete yet as there are a lot of expectations to land a quality defensive midfielder this summer. As a result, there are a lot of hype surrounding this potential bid for landing Andre.

Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda claims that Liverpool have a genuine interest in signing Fluminense midfielder Andre. Recently Sporting CP also displayed a interest for the Brazilian. But the 22-year-old will not join their squad as Sporting CP quit the race. “Andre will not be a reinforcement of Sporting CP,” Sepulveda quotes. According to reports, the Brazilian Serie A team wants more than €20 million for Andre. Liverpool are certainly favourites among the interested parties. But Fluminense wants to hold him until January 2024, when their league season ends. However, Liverpool is yet to submit a official bid as the journalist states “Interest from LFC is real but no proposal has been made.”

Andre debuted for Brazil national team in June of this year as a substitute in a friendly match against Senegal. His stellar performance in recent months earned him a call-up to the national squad. Thus, we are well aware of his potential. However Liverpool will still try to sign Romeo Lavia by offering a third bid for the Belgian. But if the bid is rejected again, they will surely bring in the Brazilian midfielder at Anfield.
