Ibrahim Sangare: Aston Villa Target Signs New Deal With PSV

Unai Emery Aston Villa Premier League

Ibrahim Sangare has been a hot prospect this summer transfer window with a host of Premier League clubs interested in securing his signature. Manchester United, West Ham, and Aston Villa were all interested in signing him. It is safe to say that Ibrahim deserves the amount of interest, with his dominant performances in the middle of the field for PSV.

Ibrahim Sangare: A complete midfield genius.

Ibrahim operates as a deep-lying playmaker usually playing as a number 6 in the PSV midfield. He is technical on the ball, great at progressing the ball, and has an impressive passing range. His pass success rate of 86.1% speaks for it. What makes the Ivorian midfielder special is his defensive output. He managed 95 tackles and 74 interceptions in the 2021-22 season which was the highest in the Dutch League.

Ibrahim would have been the perfect fit for Steven Gerrard’s style of play in Aston Villa. With the former Liverpool legend usually deploying a 4-3-2-1, Ibrahim would have been the perfect player alongside both Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara.

However, the Ivorian talent has agreed on a new long-term deal with PSV Eindhoven until 2027 according to Fabrizio Romano, putting an end to all the speculations surrounding his future.

Aston Villa’s Brilliant summer transfer window

Aston Villa pulled off one of the most impressive transfer windows.  The club has secured both Diego Carlos and Ludwiq Augustinsson from Sevilla. Diego Carlos has been one of the best defenders in La Liga and would be a great fit alongside Tyrone Mings. While Augustinsson will add more depth on the left side of the field. Phillipe Coutinho has signed a permanent move from Barcelona following his loan spell last season. Coutinho was impressive during his loan spell with 5 goals and 3 assists from 19 matches. It is no doubt that he will be an integral part of the offensive arsenal. Robin Olsen has also signed with the club and is sure to provide a stable option to guard the goal. The club is also in a pole position to sign Ryan Kent from Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

Aston Villa had an impressive turnaround last season when Steven Gerrard took over the helm from Dean Smith. With more arsenal added to the squad, the club will look forward to making a case for the Europa League spots.
