Former Aston Villa star Anwar El Ghazi was spotted at Arsenal’s Premier League encounter against Manchester United on Sunday.

Arsenal scored twice in stoppage time to claim a dramatic 3-1 victory over United at the Emirates Stadium.

In a largely scrappy affair, United thought they had snatched the three points in the 88th minute.

Only for Alejandro Garnacho’s strike to be ruled out for offside by VAR with the scores locked at 1-1.

And with eight minutes of added time called, Declan Rice dramatically gave Arsenal the lead via a deflected shot before substitute Gabriel Jesus raced clear to wrap up the win.

United had initially taken the lead in the 27th-minute courtesy of Marcus Rashford, only for Martin Odegaard to respond with an emphatic finish into the bottom corner.

And among the rapturous Arsenal crowd was former Aston Villa star Anwar El Ghazi.

Arsenal interested in signing Anwar El Ghazi

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed on X, the social media platform formally known as Twitter:

“Anwar El Ghazi, available as a free agent after terminating his contract at PSV.

“One Premier League club approached him, same for Saudi clubs.

There are several possibilities, and El Ghazi will decide soon. He was at the Emirates Stadium with his camp yesterday.”

It is probable that El Ghazi’s appearance at the Emirates is a coincidence,

With it unlikely that the player performed at the sufficient standard at PSV to earn a move to the Gunners.

After moving back to the Netherlands after an unsuccessful spell at Everton.

El Ghazi was in and out of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s starting line-up.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag and El Ghazi would have briefly crossed paths at Ajax back in 2017, though again.

The club are unlikely to be interested in the winger, despite the United boss’ tendency to sign players

he has previously worked with.

The likes of Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Sofyan Amrabat and Antony had all played under Ten Hag at previous clubs before the Dutchman’s United arrival.
