Wright Chelsea's Potter

Recent reports suggeste that Chelsea failure to secure the signing of Ivan Fresneda is solely due to Financial Fair Play regulations.

According to Record Portugal, it appeared that Chelsea was on the verge of adding the defender to their squad. However, the situation changed. That is when it became evident that they would not be able to finalize the transfer due to certain constraints.

Recent reports surfaced last week. Indicating that Chelsea was contemplating the possibility of including Ivan Fresneda in their squad for the upcoming season.

Mauricio Pochettino has been unequivocal about his desire for further additions to his squad. That is before the conclusion of the transfer window later this week.

This inclination toward more signings is likely due to the injury of Christopher Nkunku during the fruitful pre-season tour of the United States.

Can Chelsea make a move for the Portuguese again?

As per reports, Reece James may be in the sidelines for a few weeks due to persisting injury issues. Despite being recently becoming the new club captain.

Recent revelations indicate that financial considerations were the primary factor preventing Chelsea from finalizing the deal for Ivan Fresneda. Currently, Fresneda is already in Lisbon, preparing for his transfer to Sporting. As the move to Chelsea did not materialize due to financial constraints.

The report further elaborates that Chelsea will retain the initial opportunity to sign the player from the Portuguese club in the future if they choose to do so. The Blues have to do a bit more if they want to have a successful transfer window just like Arsenal.
