FC Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Brazilian youngster Savio “Savinho” Moreira who’s currently playing for Girona FC. The player is currently on loan from French Ligue 2 club ESTAC Troyes. Moreira caught the eyes of FC Barcelona with his recent performances in Girona. According to Sport, Deco ‘highly values’ the youngster and has put him on a list of possible targets. Barcelona want to reinforce their left-wing position next summer and the 19-year-old is a perfect fit according to Barca’s sports management. Barcelona are keen on making Savinho their next future star.
Man City could be a problem for Barcelona’s intentions
Savinho’s current club, ESTAC Troyes belongs to the City group which has many clubs across the world, including Premier League giants Man city. In an interview with Marca earlier, the Brazilian revealed his desire of a move to the Etihad as his dream. He said,
He has also revealed to the media that he turned down Arsenal for a possible move to Man City, while speaking to DiarioSport. Despite never being to Manchester, the young Brazilian is optimistic for a future at the Etihad. However, it is unlikely Man City will battle Barcelona for the interests of Savinho as of now.
Barcelona plans to make Savinho a future star
Barca’s sporting director Deco knows the player well as he wanted to sign him for his football agency after watching him at Atlético Mineiro’s youth academy. He is being valued at €20m this season with a high potential in the coming years. Savinho’s performance at Girona has been stellar so far with three goals and four assists in 11 games. Barcelona have been closely following the young Brazilian and hope to bring him to New Camp.
