Casemiro was made eligible to play against Barcelona in the first leg of the Europa League elimination play-off on Thursday. This was a timely boost for Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
Two days before their match with the Blaugrana at Camp Nou. The Red Devils will miss players including Lisandro Martinez.
In the Europa League group stage, Martinez received three yellow cards. The Argentine will therefore sit out the match against Barcelona as a result of his ban.
Another player on the suspended list is Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian had three yellow cards for Bayern Munich during the group stage of the Champions League.

Sabitzer to not play against Barcelona
The Europa League will automatically extend his one-game European suspension. The January acquisition won’t play against Barcelona in the midweek matchup as a result.
Martinez and Sabitzer’s absence is a major setback for United, but the return of Casemiro to the lineup has given Ten Hag some much-needed encouragement.
With Sabitzer obviously suspended and injuries to Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen, and Donny van de Beek, the Red Devils are currently lacking in the midfield.
On Thursday, Casemiro, who is currently serving a domestic suspension, will be available for selection, and it appears that he will partner Fred in the park.
Casemiro doesn’t need an introduction. He is quite familiar with Barcelona.
Since being a regular starter for United in October, the Brazilian has had a significant impact. His consistent victories over opponents have given the team’s defence stability.
He will play a significant role in the matchup with Pedri and Frenkie de Jong. For United to have a successful outcome at Camp Nou on Thursday, they must prevail in the midfield duel.
