Cristiano Ronaldo finally has a United ‘Exit Route’

About Football Express UK

Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a way out of his United nightmare. Corinthians president Duilio Monteiro Alves revealed that he wants a contract. Ronaldo only arrived at Old Trafford last summer. But the 37-year-old Portuguese is desperate to make a hasty exit after United’s horrendous 2021-22 season. The former Real Madrid man has aced the last 19 years playing in the UCL. But Manchester United failed to qualify for the competition.

The Red Devils not playing the UCL is a major factor behind Cristiano Ronaldo wanting to orchestrate an exit. There’s still enough doubt about United’s appetite for trophies in the debut season under a new manager. The club have openly stated that they don’t want to sell their talisman throughout the summer. Though lately, the United boss has changed his mind on the situation. CR7 netted 24 goals in all competitions the previous season.

Even though Ronaldo has clearly stated that he wants a transfer, a move for the veteran striker has failed to happen. Various big-name suitors, including Bayern Munich and Chelsea, have snubbed a transfer for the former Juventus star. Ronaldo’s old side, Sporting Lisbon, reportedly are the latest club to have an interest in landing the striker. It is understood though that he does not want a return to his boyhood club.

Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to comment on the issue. It would be interesting to see if he has any interest in joining a Brazilian side. But a Brazilian side also would mean no Champions League football for the Portuguese forward.

It is easy to see why it would be frustrating for the best forward in the History of football to be playing with a team who seem like they have no interest in winning.
